Following a few health conditions a few years ago the weight had piled on and I was struggling to lose or maintain any weight loss and was not feeling myself, lack of confidence was starting to affect my life both socially and professionally. I looked in the mirror and no longer saw myself. I have tried every diet, slimming group and weight loss injection but nothing seemed to work for me and following this was more disappointment in myself that I had let my weight get so out of control. After doing a lot of research myself I contacted Tonic and they put me in direct contact with Dr Awad. My first impression of Dr Awad was pleasant as he contacted me directly from his mobile and chatted through all of my options with me directly and explained everything thoroughly whilst also at the same time there was no pressure to proceed. Following my consultation he said if I had any further queries to contact him back on his mobile. I decided to go ahead with the sleeve and a date was booked but I was extremely anxious and over thinking various scenarios. The operation date arrived and I was nervous whilst travelling to the hospital, Dr Awad saw me as soon as I arrived and was absolutely lovely, really put me at ease and explained everything again and I knew then that I had chosen the right doctor. After tests and settling in to my room I was walked down to theatre and again became extremely nervous, anxious and tearful, I knew I wanted the operation and I knew it would change my life for the better - Dr Awad was so reassuring whilst I was being prepped for the anaesthesia and the next thing I knew I woke up back in my hospital room. Following the operation Dr Awad had called my husband to let him know that all had gone well. Due to a lot of scar tissue from previous operations he had had to navigate around this and separate various parts and this in itself shows his high level of experience. The following morning Dr Awad came to see me and was really happy with how everything had gone and explained everything in detail for my discharge, my post op diet, medications and my follow up appointment in 8 weeks. I am 4 days post op now and recovering well. I do feel like Dr Awad has literally saved my life as he has given me back a life I thought I would never have again and I am looking forward to the next few months of weightloss and re-gaining my life and confidence. Dr Awad overall is a lovely caring man, an extremely professional and very experienced surgeon and the personal approach with his patients is heartwarming, he really does care, no judgment whatsoever he just wants you to improve your health and life moving forward.

Mr Awad is a true expert in his field and exudes an aura of knowledge and experience from every pore! I specifically asked for him to be my surgeon, after undertaking my own research prior to booking and it was so the right decision. My surgery was a total success and I followed my liver reduction diet to the letter, Iosing half a stone in 5 days. I only had my operation 4 days ago and have lost another half a stone in that time. I am following Mr Awad's instructions without fail, including walking everyday and using the spirometer as directed. My decision allowed me to gain access to his expertise, and his expertise is now allowing me to invest further in myself. I could not recommend Mr Awad highly enough - he is a force of nature with a manner that leaves you in absolutely no doubt that you are in the best of hands, and you really will be! Amazing man and you will not be sorry!

Mr Awad is very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and passionate about metabolic / bariatric surgery. He is approachable and explains everything in simple terms. He is honest and upfront about the benefits and risks of surgery, allowing patients to make an informed decision. You never feel judged and there is no such thing as a silly question. Everything is explained clearly each step of the journey. Information leaflets are also provided to refer back to. In addition, letters are provided for your GP pre and post surgery. Very efficient service provided. I am two days post op and so far would highly recommend Mr Awad.
